The Toronto Blue Jays have appointed David Bell as their new vice-president of baseball operations and assistant general manager. This announcement was made on Friday.

Bell will be responsible for overseeing player development and the physical and mental performance departments. Additionally, he will play a role in strategic planning and player evaluations. He will report directly to Ross Atkins, the general manager.

Previously, Bell managed the Cincinnati Reds for six seasons and has extensive experience in coaching and player development across several major league teams.
