Peter Strzelecki, a right-handed relief pitcher, was acquired by the Pirates from the Guardians after being designated for assignment. Born in Queens, N.Y., he played at Santaluces Community High School and later at Palm Beach State College before transferring to USF. Strzelecki was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Brewers in 2018, making his MLB debut in 2022 with a solid rookie season. In 2023, he was traded to the Diamondbacks but made only one appearance before being acquired by Cleveland, where he performed well with a 2.31 ERA in 10 games. He also had a successful stint in Triple-A, recording nine saves and a 5.01 ERA in 44 games.
