The Cincinnati Reds have made a significant move by acquiring veteran infielder Gavin Lux from the Los Angeles Dodgers. This transaction, reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan, sees the Dodgers receiving a Competitive Balance Round A pick, approximately the 37th overall, along with outfield prospect Mike Sirota in exchange for Lux.
Lux, who is 27 years old, had a batting average of .251 last season, contributing 10 home runs and 50 RBIs. The Reds are in need of infield reinforcement following their trade of second baseman Jonathan India to the Kansas City Royals in November. In that deal, Cincinnati also secured right-handed pitcher Brady Singer from Kansas City.
