The Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball have raised serious concerns regarding Diamond Sports Group's reorganization plan, citing insufficient information to support the company's financial projections. In a motion filed in bankruptcy court, they expressed fears that approval of the plan could lead to further financial distress for Diamond.
As Diamond nears two years in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, its confirmation hearing is set for next Thursday. The company, which has contracts with several MLB teams, has seen some teams, including the Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers, exit their agreements.
Concerns also extend to Diamond's lack of clarity regarding a potential deal with Amazon for its streaming services, which MLB and the Braves argue undermines the company's feasibility claims.
