The New York Mets have secured a significant addition to their pitching rotation by signing right-hander Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract. This agreement includes a player option after the 2025 season, pending a physical examination.
Montas, who is 31 years old, had a challenging previous season, posting a 4.84 ERA with 148 strikeouts over 150.2 innings pitched, split between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers. He will join fellow pitchers Kodai Senga and David Peterson as the Mets look to strengthen their roster after a successful postseason run.
