The Seattle Mariners have addressed their offseason needs by claiming right-handed relief pitcher Hagen Danner off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners, who struggled offensively during the 2024 season, continue to seek improvements, particularly in the infield at second and third base. Danner, a second-round draft pick in 2017, has shown promise in the minors, particularly with the Buffalo Bisons.
In his last two seasons, Danner recorded a 3.81 ERA in 2023 and a more impressive 3.15 ERA in 2024, with consistent strikeout rates. Although he has only made one major league appearance, he could find a spot in the Mariners' bullpen following the recent non-tendering of pitchers JT Chargois and Austin Voth.
