The Atlanta Hawks have announced that backup guard Kobe Bufkin will undergo surgery for his persistent right shoulder instability, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.
Bufkin, the 15th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has struggled with shoulder issues throughout his short career, missing significant time due to injuries. The Hawks had hoped to utilize him as a backup point guard, but he played only 10 games this season before being shut down.
