The Detroit Pistons fired head coach Monty Williams after a disastrous first season, with just 14 wins. The team is looking to chart a new course moving forward, according to owner Tom Gores. Williams had a $65 million deal with five years left. The Pistons hired Trajan Langdon as their new president and owner Tom Gores made the final call. Williams was selected by general manager Troy Weaver who had a relationship with him from their time in Oklahoma City. The Pistons have had four consecutive lottery picks, including Cade Cunningham, Killian Hayes, Jaden Ivey, and Ausar Thompson.
