The Golden State Warriors faced the Memphis Grizzlies without their star guard Stephen Curry, marking the seventh game he has missed this season. Despite the absence of Curry, the Warriors secured a 121-113 victory, showcasing a strong team performance with six players scoring in double figures, led by Andrew Wiggins with 24 points.
However, the win came with a setback as forward Jonathan Kuminga suffered a significant right ankle sprain during the game. Head coach Steve Kerr indicated that Kuminga's injury would not be assessed on a day-to-day basis while awaiting MRI results. Kuminga had only missed two games prior this season, both of which resulted in losses.
With the injury to Kuminga, the Warriors may consider making a trade to bolster their roster, especially as he had been averaging 21.1 points and 6.3 rebounds over his last 13 games. Kyle Anderson, who joined the team this summer, is expected to step into Kuminga's role during his recovery.
