Cam Akers signs with the Texans on a deal for two years.

Cam Akers, a running back for the Minnesota Vikings, signed with the Houston Texans after recovering from a torn left Achilles tendon that he suffered in Week 9.

Cam Akers landed in the Doghouse again, after one regular-season game. He was traded to the Vikings after Week 2. He appeared in six games for the Vikings before suffering another Achilles tendon tear.

The Texans signed veteran running back Cam Akers, who joins a Houston backfield that added Joe Mixon and still has Dameon Pierce. Akers is recovering from his second torn Achilles.

Akers, a former Rams running back, has had his career marred by multiple Achilles injuries and has been seeking opportunities with other teams such as the Texans and Vikings.
