Jerami Grant led the Portland Trail Blazers to their first win of the season with 28 points in a 125-103 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Anfernee Simons contributed 27 points and six assists, while Deandre Ayton recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Blazers overcame an early 8-0 deficit, taking a commanding 59-47 lead into halftime and extending it to 24 points in the second half. Portland dominated the boards, out-rebounding New Orleans 51-39.
Pelicans coach Willie Green noted a minutes restriction for Zion Williamson, who struggled with his shooting. Meanwhile, Blazers coach Chauncey Billups emphasized the need to better integrate Deni Avdija into the team.
