Years before Jonathan Mogbo was drafted by the Toronto Raptors, he posed for a photo with a Raptors fan who confused him for former Toronto forward Precious Achiuwa. Mogbo shared his experience at an introductory news conference after being drafted 31st overall. Toronto also selected Baylor University swingman Ja’Kobe Walter 19th overall. Mogbo shared his emotions about his selection while Walter expressed his gratitude for the team’s fan base.
Walter spoke about his skills as a shot-creator and his focus on improving his game for the NBA. Additionally, Toronto made deals with Sacramento and Minnesota before the draft, acquiring players such as Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov, and Jamal Shead. Despite the pending league approval, the Raptors couldn’t make the new players available for interviews on Friday morning.
