Cedi Osman, a familiar name for Cleveland Cavaliers fans, is leaving the NBA to join Panathinaikos in the Greek Basketball League. The move was announced by the team's owner, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, and Osman will be coached by Ergin Ataman, whom he knows from the Turkish National team.
Osman, who averaged 6.8 points and 2.5 rebounds last season with the San Antonio Spurs, opted to play overseas instead of accepting a training camp invitation from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Having spent six seasons with the Cavaliers, Osman contributed significantly during his time and may one day return to the NBA, but is currently focused on this new opportunity.
