Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs earned unanimous selection to the NBA's All-Rookie team and Rookie of the Year honors. Joining him on the first team were Chet Holmgren, Brandon Miller, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Brandin Podziemski.
Dereck Lively II and Amen Thompson made the second team. All-Defensive team selections will be announced Tuesday and All-NBA team on Wednesday. Wembanyama is a strong candidate for both.
If he achieves either honor, he would be the first rookie since Tim Duncan and David Robinson to do so. Only five rookies have made All-Defense, and if Wembanyama makes All-NBA, he would join a select group of rookies in NBA history.
