The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Skyler Brind'Amour to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal is worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $75,000 at the AHL level.
General Manager Eric Tulsky praised Brind'Amour's defensive skills and preseason performance. The 25-year-old center was a sixth-round pick by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017 but chose to complete his college career with the Quinnipiac Bobcats, winning an NCAA Championship in 2023.
After a stint with the Charlotte Checkers, Brind'Amour joined the Hurricanes on a professional tryout agreement. His father, coach Rod Brind'Amour, expressed both pride and a critical eye in evaluating his son's performance.
