The Philadelphia Flyers have officially signed goaltender Eetu Makiniemi to a one-year, two-way contract, having previously performed well during training camp.
In a recent preseason game against Montreal, Makiniemi showcased his skills by stopping 13 out of 14 shots. Last season, while playing with the AHL's San Jose Barracuda, he recorded an 8-8-0 record with a 3.14 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage, along with three shutouts.
Over his AHL career, he has made 54 appearances and accumulated a solid track record, marking 27 wins and four losses. Initially drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2017, he made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks last season.
