The Edmonton Oilers have lost defenseman Travis Dermott to the Minnesota Wild after he was claimed off waivers. This move follows the Oilers' acquisition of Alec Regula from the Boston Bruins.
The New York Islanders also placed Pierre Engvall and Oliver Wahlstrom on waivers, with other NHL teams having 24 hours to claim them. If unclaimed, they will be assigned to AHL Bridgeport.
Dermott, who has struggled with the Oilers, may fill a gap in the Wild's defense due to injuries to Jake Middleton and Jonas Brodin.
