The Washington Capitals have placed Lars Eller on injured reserve due to illness, retroactive to December 17. In his absence, the team has recalled Henrik Rybinski from their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Eller, 35, has contributed two goals and four assists in 16 games this season after joining the Capitals from the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has a notable career total of 184 goals and 231 assists over 1,069 games, including a Stanley Cup victory with Washington in 2018.
