The New York Islanders have signed veteran forward Matt Martin to a one-year contract after he participated in training camp on a professional tryout. Martin, 35, is known for his physical style of play and has been a key player for the Islanders over his career.
In addition to this signing, the team placed Anthony Duclair on long-term injured reserve due to a leg injury sustained against the Montreal Canadiens. Duclair is expected to miss four to six weeks. The Islanders also made roster adjustments by loaning Liam Foudy to the AHL and recalling Pierre Engvall and Hudson Fasching.
