The Pittsburgh Penguins have made significant cuts to their training camp roster, assigning several players to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and placing others on waivers.
Among those assigned are forwards Corey Andonovski, Tristan Broz, and Ville Koivunen, along with defenseman Owen Pickering. Notably, Sam Poulin, a first-round pick in 2019, is among those placed on waivers, having struggled with injuries and mental health issues.
As the Penguins prepare for the upcoming season, they must finalize their roster by October 9, with several players still vying for a spot in tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
