Macklin Celebrini, the top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, has been placed on injured reserve and will miss at least two upcoming games.

This decision comes just days after his impressive NHL debut, where he scored a goal and assisted in the Sharks' overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. Celebrini's debut goal ranks as the second fastest for a No. 1 pick, only behind Mario Lemieux.

Coach Ryan Warsofsky has not elaborated on Celebrini's injury, but he could potentially return for a matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks next week.
