The lack of offense punch showed with Logan Couture and Tomas Hertl not in the San Jose lineup due to injury. They also lost Nico Sturm in the third period after he took a hard hit along the boards and hit his head on the ice.
The Jets take a 1-0 lead after Morgan Barron tipped a Neal Pionk shot from the point. The puck squeezed through Kaapo Kahkonen.
After starting the game strong and outshooting Winnipeg 4-0, San Jose fell behind the pace of play. The Jets finished the first period with 15 straight shots.
Nico Sturm heads to the locker room after taking a hit from Logan Stanley in the third period. Kaapo Kahkonen was shaken up at the very end of the game.
