Marco Scandella, a former defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres, has officially announced his retirement from professional hockey. The 34-year-old confirmed his retirement to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after completing a five-year tenure with the St. Louis Blues.
During his last season, Scandella played 65 games, contributing two goals and eight points. Over his 14-year NHL career, he played for multiple teams, including the Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens, accumulating 51 goals and 170 points in 784 games.
