The Yankees have a plan to not rest Juan Soto this season despite past practices. Soto has played in at least 150 games over the last four years and will continue as long as he's healthy, taking occasional DH days. The team hasn't had a 162-game player since Alex Rodriguez and Hideki Matsui in 2005.
After a short debut, Clayton Beeter was sent to Triple-A and Tanner Tully was promoted for pitching needs. Beeter wasn't used to pitching back-to-back days. Tully returns after a season in Korea and performed well in spring training with a 1.50 ERA. Nick Ramirez was designated for assignment to make space for Tully on the roster.
Carlos Rodón made his season debut, faced jersey sweat issues amid problems with the new Fanatics jerseys. Despite the sweat soaking through, Rodón remained unfazed by the situation.
