Williams, acquired from the Brewers in the offseason, now holds an 11.25 ERA and a 1.14 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his first ten appearances. Boone indicated that the team will consider utilizing Williams in lower-leverage situations until he can regain his form.

In the interim, right-hander Luke Weaver will take on closer duties, having excelled with 13 consecutive scoreless innings. Despite Williams' struggles, the Yankees remain in contention, currently leading the American League East with a 15-11 record.
