This season has already seen a significant uptick in kickoff returns, with the rate skyrocketing to 32.8%. The Eagles and Chiefs have benefited from this shift, with both employing effective return strategies that contributed to their playoff success. Eagles special teams coach Michael Clay expressed excitement over the flexibility the new rule provides for coaching, while Chiefs' coach Dave Toub suggests further tweaks could enhance return opportunities even more.
