With Aidan O'Connell sidelined due to a broken thumb, the Las Vegas Raiders have signed Desmond Ridder from the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. Ridder will serve as a backup to Gardner Minshew, who has recently returned to the starting role.

Ridder, a third-round pick in 2022, previously played for the Atlanta Falcons, where he had a mixed record as a starter. The Raiders, currently at 2-5, are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes this Sunday.
