Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams emerged as a standout player following his selection in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, breaking records for rookie receptions and yards. However, the 2024 season presented challenges, as Nacua suffered an injury in the opening game against the Detroit Lions, contributing to the Rams' slow start to the season, which saw them at 1-4.
Nacua returned in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings, where he showcased his potential by converting nine targets into seven receptions and amassing 106 receiving yards. Despite finishing the season with just under 1,000 receiving yards and four touchdowns, his statistics reflected a decline from his rookie year due to his absence. Considered a miracle to remain with the team, Nacua’s performance placed him in the PFF 2024 All-Pro team as a flex receiver.
His performance, despite missing time, was remarkable, earning a top receiving grade from PFF and showing his versatility as both a YAC monster and a deep threat for quarterback Matthew Stafford. With Nacua back, the Rams improved to a 7-3 record and aim to replicate their 2022 Super Bowl success.
