Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that the lateral play involving Travis Kelce and Samaje Perine during a recent game against the New Orleans Saints was indeed a designed play, practiced regularly by the team.

This play, which left the Chiefs just short of a first down, showcased Kelce's ability to execute such maneuvers, reminiscent of a previous lateral to Kadarius Toney that was called back due to an offsides penalty.
