Denver Broncos linebacker Cody Barton has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week following an outstanding performance against the New Orleans Saints. In the Broncos' 33-10 victory, Barton recorded eight tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble, including a 52-yard return for a defensive touchdown.
This marks the first time in Barton's career that he has received Conference honors, and he is the first Broncos linebacker to do so since Von Miller in 2018. Barton's efforts come as he steps up in a leadership role after injuries to key players on the defense.
