Mario Edwards Jr., a defensive tackle for the Houston Texans, has been suspended for four games due to a violation of the NFL's substances of abuse policy.
Edwards, who has been a consistent starter this season, will be eligible to return after the Texans' game against the Detroit Lions on November 10. He joined Houston earlier this year on a one-year contract worth $2 million, following a stint with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Texans have not commented on the suspension, which coincides with the reinstatement of defensive end Denico Autry after a six-game suspension for performance-enhancers.
