Jourdan Lewis, the newly signed cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has announced his jersey number for the upcoming season: No. 2. This number was previously worn by D'Ernest Johnson, a running back who remains a free agent after not being re-signed by the team.

Lewis, who joined the Jaguars on a significant three-year, $30 million contract with $20 million guaranteed, brings considerable experience to the secondary after spending his first eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Known for his exceptional skills as a slot defender, he ranked eighth in yards per snap allowed last season.

Jaguars GM James Gladstone praised Lewis’s versatility and toughness, indicating that his addition will provide much-needed stability.
