The Las Vegas Raiders have signed quarterback Desmond Ridder from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad following an injury to starter Aidan O'Connell. O'Connell is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after breaking his thumb during a recent game.

Ridder, who previously played for the Atlanta Falcons, has a career record of 8-9 and has thrown for over 3,500 yards with 14 touchdowns. He was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and was a college teammate of Raiders receiver Tre Tucker.
