The Los Angeles Rams have made strategic roster adjustments ahead of their NFC wild-card matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. Veteran safety John Johnson III has been designated to return from injured reserve, boosting the team's secondary depth.
Johnson has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Week 2, where he suffered the injury against the Arizona Cardinals. His return is timely as the Rams are also dealing with the loss of running back Blake Corum, who has been placed on injured reserve due to a fractured forearm sustained in last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
To counter Corum's absence, the Rams have signed running back Royce Freeman. Freeman, a six-year veteran, returns to the Rams after a productive stint last season, where he recorded 319 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He will complement the current running back options, including Ronnie Rivers and Cody Schrader, as the team prepares for a critical playoff encounter.
