The New York Jets are actively pursuing candidates for their head coach and general manager positions as they look to reshape their organization. On Saturday, they interviewed Darren Rizzi, the interim coach for the New Orleans Saints, making him the eighth known candidate for the head coaching role. Rizzi, a New Jersey native, had a brief stint as head coach of the Saints, finishing with a 3-5 record after stepping in for Dennis Allen.
In conjunction with their search for a head coach, the Jets are also vetting candidates for their GM position, having spoken to five candidates including Minnesota's Ryan Grigson and Detroit's Chris Spielman. A total of 13 candidates have been approached as the organization seeks to replace Joe Douglas, who was let go last November.
