The New York Giants have signed Ihmir Smith-Marsette as they look for an experienced punt returner following injuries to current players. Smith-Marsette, a former fifth-round draft pick, has played for multiple teams and had a productive stint with the Panthers last season, where he notably returned a touchdown.

The Giants also placed linebacker Carter Coughlin on the injured list and signed Curtis Bolton to the practice squad. Gunner Olszewski, the main punt returner, is sidelined for several weeks due to a groin injury.
