In response, the team placed edge rusher Patrick Johnson on waivers and brought up Nick Gates, along with Parris Campbell and E.J. Jenkins from the practice squad.
Despite hopes of returning, Johnson was claimed by the New York Giants, ending his tenure with the Eagles.
