The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to wear throwback jerseys in their upcoming game against the New York Jets to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their Super Bowl IX victory. Steelers president Art Rooney II emphasized the importance of celebrating this pivotal moment in the franchise's history.
The throwback jerseys feature block numbers and gray facemasks, reminiscent of the 1970s style. Special teams captain Miles Killebrew highlighted the significance of honoring the team's legacy, while a commemorative patch will also be included to mark the anniversary.
During halftime, the Steelers will pay tribute to the Super Bowl IX team, alongside their annual Alumni Dinner at Acrisure Stadium.
