Running back Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers will be placed on injured reserve due to calf soreness and Achilles tendinitis, missing at least four games. This decision comes after coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged the injury's unpredictability.
Despite McCaffrey's determination to play, he will now focus on recovery, hoping to return for a planned game against the Seattle Seahawks on October 10.
With McCaffrey sidelined, Jordan Mason is expected to take over primary running back duties, following a strong performance against the New York Jets.
