Alex Barré-Boulet has been placed on waivers by the Canadiens for a loan to the AHL’s Laval Rocket. He signed a one-year, one-way contract worth $775,000 this summer after playing 36 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. Barré-Boulet had a strong performance in the AHL, finishing second in scoring with the Syracuse Crunch, and he played in the first two games of the current season with the Canadiens before being a healthy scratch. He has yet to be claimed by another NHL team and will report to Laval if unclaimed.
