The Falcons released defensive lineman Ikenna Enechukwu after an injury during training camp without any regular season appearances. Enechukwu, an undrafted player out of Rice, will look for NFL opportunities elsewhere.

Atlanta is transitioning to a 3-4 defense this season under head coach Raheem Morris and defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake. Other players like Arnold Ebiketie, Lorenzo Carter, Ade Ogundeji, and DeAngelo Malone are still with the team on defense.
