Cincinnati Bengals rookie receiver Jermaine Burton faces serious allegations after a reported assault on a woman he was dating. Although the woman decided against pressing charges, police reports indicate that Burton was involved in a disturbing incident on December 30, shortly before his absence in the Bengals' Week 18 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The incident involved accusations of physical abuse, including choking, as well as threats of self-harm.

According to the police call, the woman described Burton's aggressive behavior, stating he chased her into her apartment, damaged her phone, and threatened her with a knife. Despite claiming he had been abusive in their relationship, she initially sought to file charges but later changed her mind.
