Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin has successfully recovered his three Stanley Cup championship rings after they were stolen during a recent home invasion. The discovery was made in a different area of his residence in Sewickley Heights, as confirmed by Allegheny County Police.
Malkin reported the burglary shortly after returning home from the Penguins' game against the Ottawa Senators on January 11, where the team suffered a 5-0 defeat. Although the prized rings have been located, the investigation into the home invasion is still ongoing.
At 38 years old, Malkin joins a growing list of high-profile athletes who have been victims of similar crimes. Notably, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow experienced a burglary while the team faced off in Dallas on Monday Night Football last December. Additionally, several Kansas City Chiefs players, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, were targeted in October, while NBA players Bobby Portis and Mike Conley Jr. also reported break-ins at their homes in recent months.
