Trey Lance is ready to compete for the backup quarterback spot at the Cowboys alongside Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush, while pushing Prescott to improve.

Lance needs to show his skills in the preseason games to secure his position, after being selected third overall by the 49ers in the 2021 draft.
