The Miami Dolphins traded linebacker Jerome Baker to the Seattle Seahawks, joining former Dolphin Jordyn Brooks. Baker spent six seasons with Miami before being released due to salary cap constraints. The Dolphins quickly signed linebackers Brooks and Anthony Walker Jr. to fill the void. Baker had an impressive 2023 season with 78 tackles, 1 ½ sacks, and two interceptions.
Despite rarely being injured, Baker missed time with a knee injury and wrist issue late last season. Along with Baker, several other defensive players were released for cap relief, leading to a revamped defense under new coordinator Anthony Weaver. The Dolphins are set to face the Seahawks on the road in 2024.
