The Detroit Lions are dealing with a mixed bag of injury news as they head into the NFL playoffs. Rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold and guard Kevin Zeitler have shown signs of recovery from their respective injuries sustained during the recent game against Minnesota. Coach Dan Campbell noted that while he cannot guarantee their return, the outlook is significantly more positive than initially feared.
However, the news is less encouraging for defensive lineman Pat O’Connor, who is dealing with a calf injury. Campbell highlighted that running back David Montgomery is anticipated to make a comeback after knee issues sidelined him since Week 15. Additionally, rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw is also trending positively towards returning after a hamstring injury in Week 12.
On the downside, linebacker Derrick Barnes and cornerback Carlton Davis III are unlikely to return for the postseason due to serious injuries. Meanwhile, edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, who suffered a broken tibia and fibula in October, remains a question mark for a potential return, as he has expressed intentions to be back for the Super Bowl.
