The Detroit Lions have begun trimming their roster ahead of the deadline, releasing wide receivers Donovan Peoples-Jones and Kaden Davis.
Peoples-Jones struggled during training camp after being a trade acquisition last season, while Davis, a rookie, showed potential but was unable to secure his spot.
Both players are now subject to the waiver wire, which could allow them to be claimed by other teams, and if unclaimed, they may rejoin the Lions' practice squad.
