The Green Bay Packers have added James Turner to their kicking competition by claiming him off waivers from the Detroit Lions. Turner previously kicked for Michigan's national championship team, having a successful season. Green Bay now has three kickers vying for the job.
Turner went 18 of 21 on field-goal attempts for Michigan last year. In contrast, he went 47 of 59 in his four seasons at Louisville. The Lions released Turner to make room for kicker Jake Bates, who recently earned honors with the Michigan Panthers.
