The Indianapolis Colts have activated cornerback JuJu Brents from injured reserve after a lengthy absence due to a knee injury. Brents, who last played in Week 1 against the Houston Texans, had been sidelined for fifteen games but is set to return for the Colts' regular season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In a corresponding move, the Colts waived cornerback Chris Lammons. Brents had a promising rookie season in 2023, participating in nine games and recording impressive stats including 43 tackles and an interception. His return comes at a critical time for the Colts defense, which struggled significantly in their last game, allowing 45 points to the New York Giants.
Despite being out of playoff contention, Brents aims to make a positive impact against a struggling Jaguars offense, facing off against rookie standout Brian Thomas Jr. The Colts are keen to see how Brents performs after his long layoff and whether he can regain full capacity on the field.
