Kansas is making efforts to move the Kansas City Chiefs out of Missouri by discussing the construction of a new stadium to lure them 25 miles west into the Kansas border. The state plans to use revenue from sports betting, the Kansas Lottery, and tax dollars to pay for the construction.
Missouri lawmakers are not eager to consider competing legislation to keep the Chiefs in the state as Hunt, the Chiefs owner, has hinted at moving the team. However, a letter from Missouri Rep. Sharp urges Gov. Parson to finance renovations on Arrowhead Stadium to keep the team in Missouri.
